North Raleigh Float Spa

north raleigh float spa website

Summary

Designing a website and branding for a new float spa involves creating a soothing, immersive experience that aligns with the spa’s tranquil and rejuvenating atmosphere. The design should use calming colors, smooth typography, and serene imagery to evoke relaxation. The website must offer intuitive navigation and seamless booking features to enhance user convenience.

For the North Raleigh Float Spa website, the focus was on mirroring their zen brand identity and calming vibe. The design needed to be flexible and scalable, allowing their skilled marketing team to easily manage and update content regularly. By building a modular design system on top of a core Squarespace theme, we ensured consistent branding while providing customization without disrupting the underlying structure—resulting in a user-friendly, visually engaging platform that supports ongoing growth and adaptability.

As the designer for both branding and website, my role was to seamlessly integrate the provided branding materials into a cohesive and dynamic CMS design system. Collaborating closely with the team, I crafted an intuitive and flexible framework that empowers them to update website content effortlessly—saving time and eliminating extra work. This approach ensured brand consistency while delivering a user-friendly solution that supports ongoing growth and engagement.

Branding Design

Designing the float spa’s logo and branding was a fun process of trying new ideas. I began by exploring the spa’s calm, weightless feeling—drawing smooth shapes and choosing soft colors that bring peace. Using mood boards with gentle waves and bubbles, plus easy, relaxing fonts, I created a look that feels refreshing. The goal was not just to look nice but to capture the calm and joy of floating in a brand everyone can feel right away.

Website Design

The web design process kicks off with wireframes, which lay down the basic structure and flow of the site without distractions. These skeletal outlines help to map out where content, images, and interactive elements will live. Once the wireframes are in place, different design options begin to emerge—color schemes, typography, and visual styles are explored to match the brand’s personality. Just like crafting the Float Spa’s logo, this phase is about experimenting with vibes and visuals that resonate with the user’s experience, whether it’s calm and weightless or vibrant and energetic. The iterative process ensures the final design isn’t just beautiful but functional and perfectly tuned to tell the brand’s story.

The Home Screen

I prepared four distinct design options for the home screen, each showcasing the same content and images but presented through unique creative layouts. This approach allowed me to explore various visual hierarchies, color schemes, and user flows to highlight how the same information can be communicated effectively in multiple engaging ways. By experimenting with different arrangements and stylistic touches, I aimed to offer a range of possibilities that balance aesthetics with usability, ultimately demonstrating the versatility of the design while keeping the user experience front and center.

Social Media

I created a series of social media styling kits in Canva for the client, empowering them to manage their own social media with ease and creativity. These kits include four distinct design options, each featuring the same content and images but arranged in unique, eye-catching layouts. This variety showcases different visual hierarchies, color palettes, and styles, giving the client flexible tools to maintain a cohesive yet dynamic online presence. By providing these ready-to-use templates, I combined thoughtful design with user-friendly functionality, ensuring the client can engage their audience confidently while expressing their brand’s personality.
