Intro

God Listens is a digital prayer platform created by Hope Media Group to help users submit prayer requests, engage with community prayers, and build spiritual connection across multiple media properties. The experience needed to feel simple, welcoming, and accessible while supporting both anonymous participation and logged-in community interaction.

The problem

Hope Media Group wanted to create a digital space where users could submit and engage with prayer requests across its network of brands. However, there was no unified system for community prayer engagement, and existing solutions lacked consistency, scalability, and ease of integration across multiple platforms.

In addition, most community interaction tools were either too complex or too social-media-like, which didn’t align with the emotional, supportive nature of prayer-based engagement. The challenge was to create something simple, accessible, and meaningful that could work across multiple brands while maintaining a respectful and focused user experience.

The approach

I began by mapping the core user behaviors around submitting prayer requests, reading community posts, and participating through simple engagement actions. Because the product needed to function across multiple brands, I focused on creating a modular and reusable design system.

I worked closely with stakeholders and developers to define interaction patterns, content structure, and permission levels for both anonymous and authenticated users. The design emphasized reducing friction in participation while maintaining a calm, supportive tone.

Key considerations included simplifying submission flows, designing for low cognitive load, and ensuring accessibility across devices and user types.

The Outcome

The final design delivered a scalable, white-label prayer wall system that could be embedded across Hope Media Group’s digital ecosystem. Users were able to submit and engage with prayer requests in a simple, focused interface designed to encourage participation without overwhelming them.

The system established a consistent interaction model that could be reused across multiple brands while maintaining emotional sensitivity and usability standards.
